Velvet is a fabric that appears different on its two sides: on the so-called obverse side it has a thick shaved pile; remaining smooth on the wrong side on which it is normally rolled.

The product we present to you is a soft velvet fabric, i.e. a classic short pile velvet with an aristocratic appearance but adaptable to multiple uses.

Today velvet fabric is commonly used in various fields and to package the most varied types of products; Its two main fields of use are clothing and furnishings but it is frequently purchased for building insulation purposes, for the creation of luxurious packaging and as fine upholstery in the automotive sector, sometimes replacing the use of eco-leather. The material in which our velvet fabric is made is 100% PL, i.e. synthetic polyester fibre.

It is a chemical fiber produced from very durable, resistant and elastic synthetic polymers. It has the advantage of being resistant to rubbing and wear while always remaining soft to the eye and to the touch.

Furthermore, polyester velvet fabric has the advantage of being hygroscopic and therefore dries quickly and is easier to wash than other fibres. If you wish to work with it, we remind you that velvet is a so-called "hairy" fabric and to obtain an optimal result and not waste it, it must always be cut in the direction of the pile and always downwards.

The weight per linear meter is 450g – the weight per square meter is 300g. The sale is possible either by the linear metre, the minimum purchasable cut of velvet starts from the single meter (100cm x 140cm height).
